Josquin
October 26 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm

The Gallery Singers present a monumental work by Josquin des Prez: “Missa L’homme armé super voces musicales”. Josquin is considered a preeminent composer of the Renaissance period and he wrote this first of two masses based on the “L’homme armé” melody in the late 15th century. Many other composers of the time also wrote masses on this popular melody, such that at least 31 masses exist today. Other composers featured on the programme are Tomás Luis de Victoria and William Byrd.
