COSMOGRAPHY

Join the Gallery Singers for “Cosmography”, a concert of madrigals and mystery. These things seem wondrous! The exploration of far off lands; the mysterious world beyond the known borders; fantastical flying fishes; exotic spices; burning volcanos: this is “Thule, the Period of Cosmography”! (Thomas Weelkes) Then, echoes of birdsong in “Le Chants des Oyseaux” (Clément Janequin) and the emergence of Spring with madrigals by Thomas Morley, Claudio Monteverdi, and John Bennet, before welcoming the evening with “Draw on, sweet night” (John Wilbye). A musical journey to behold…
